CalChamber has updated and revamped our virtual seminars for 2025 by adding more examples and scenarios to help you apply key legal concepts to real-world situations you may encounter. These seminars will provide you with even more practical guidance to best help manage your California employees and ensure compliance with employment law. Register now for our upcoming HR Boot Camp seminar on February 27 and 28 and our Leaves of Absence seminar on March 6 and 7.

Each seminar consists of two half-day sessions taking place online from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. Our employment law experts will present live, engaging with attendees and answering your questions throughout the training.

Our HR Boot Camp seminar covers key legal requirements throughout the employment lifecycle — from hiring to termination. We’ll provide best practices to implement in your workforce. Our employment law experts will cover:

  • Hiring and onboarding;
  • Wage-and-hour requirements, such as overtime, meal and rest breaks, and exempt/nonexempt classifications;
  • Paid sick leave, vacation and paid time off;
  • Protected leaves of absence;
  • Providing reasonable accommodation;
  • Discipline and termination; and
  • More.

If you want a deeper dive into understanding, administering and managing leaves of absence for your employees, our Leaves of Absence seminar explains the legal requirements of the different leaves California employees may have the right to take — like paid sick leave, pregnancy disability leave, military leaves, reproductive loss leave, victim’s leave and many, many more. We’ll also explain:

  • How to determine which leaves apply to your employees;
  • When employees are eligible for leave;
  • How the leaves interact;
  • Which notices to provide; and
  • How employees are paid during leave.

These seminars are ideal for HR professionals, legal/employment law counsel, office managers, business owners or anyone responsible for hiring and managing employees. Participants will receive downloadable slides and supplemental training materials, and each of these seminars are approved for 6.5 HRCI, MCLE and PDC credits. The price is $349 ($279.20 for Preferred Members and above). Register online or call (800) 331-8877.

Please note that no recording is associated with these virtual seminars, so be sure to attend the live training.
