Veterans Reporting Opens Soon: New Compliance Form Available
The federal Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) collects and compiles data on the employment of veterans with federal contractors and subcontractors.
Federal contractors and subcontractors are required to submit reports on their affirmative action efforts with respect to veterans. All nonexempt federal contractors and subcontractors with a contract or subcontract in the amount of $100,000 or more with any department or agency of the United States for the procurement of personal property or non-personal services must comply with the reporting requirement.
The 2015 VETS filing season starts August 1, 2015, and the filing deadline is September 30, 2015.
Previously, federal contractors and subcontractors were required to submit one of two reports, the VETS-100 or the VETS-100A, depending on the contract amount.
As a result of final regulations published late last year, the VETS-100 form is now obsolete and a new form, the VETS-4212 Report, replaces the Vets-100A. The VETS-4212 form is the only form that will be used.
The VETS reporting is required on an annual basis. You can submit the information using one of the following methods:
- Filing on the VETS-4212 website (However, due to scheduled maintenance, the online filing season will not be available until Monday, August 3, 2015);
- Submitting reports via email to VETS4212email@example.com; or
- Submitting the report via postal mail to:
