San Francisco’s Family Friendly Workplace Request Form Available
San Francisco’s Family Friendly Workplace Ordinance took effect January 1, 2014. Generally, the ordinance gives certain employees who are employed in San Francisco the right to request a flexible or predictable work arrangement to assist with caregiving responsibilities. The ordinance applies to employers with 20 or more employees, regardless of the employees’ location.
The city’s Office of Labor Standards Enforcement (OLSE) created a sample form that employees covered by the ordinance may use to request flexible or predictable working arrangements from their employers. Employees are not required to use the sample form but any request must be in writing and contain certain specific information.
