Veterans Reporting Deadline Approaching

Sep 23 2015 - Hiring, Reporting Requirements - Gail Cecchettini Whaley

2015 VETS filing deadline is September 30, 2015.

The Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) prohibits covered federal contractors and subcontractors from discriminating against protected veterans and requires covered employers to take affirmative action to recruit, hire, promote and retain these veterans and meet reporting requirements.

The 2015 VETS filing deadline of September 30, 2015 is fast approaching. As previously reported, covered employers will need to use the new VETS-4212 Report.

  1. In the past, federal contracts and subcontractors were required to submit one of two reports, the VETS-100 or the VETS-100A, depending on the contract amount. As a result of final regulations published last year, the VETS-100 form is now obsolete and the VETS-4212 Report replaces the Vets-100A. The VETS-4212 form is the only form that will be used.
  2. The VETS-4212 is available for free on HRCalifornia and also on the Department of Labor Website.
